A Full School
The hustle and bustle of the first couple weeks has settled and our induction days past us. We are now officially deep into lessons, students have gotten to know their schedules and found their way around. It really is great to see so many faces walking the halls, they are excited and happy too finally be in school learning again.
Even more exciting is our Cross Country IHC happening next week, we like to start the year off with a bang. Giving students an event to get to know each other better, bond and even get in some good exercise! There's nothing better than spending a day outdoors
Back to School Introduction from our House Captains

Pavlov
Welcome everyone to a brand new year at IEGS! This term Matilda and I (Jonathan) will be the house captains of Pavlov, and we will do our absolute best to help the house in any way that we can. On the first Friday after the summer break we had our first house day where the second and third years got to finally meet the new first years. It was great to see so many new happy faces walking in the corridor and filling the empty classrooms.
The assembly which we had was our first as house captains and standing in front of over a hundred people is not as easy as some people make it look
IHC Dance

There is something special about dance. It gives people goosebumps, it excites people and makes them want to join in but it also brings out feelings that they didn’t even know they had. And for the dancers there is no difference. For them this is their creative outlet, it is their freedom and this is their way of telling a story. There is no surprise that this is something that makes this a beloved inter house competition that both the partitioners and the audience are waiting all year long for it.
The room is filled with energy. This is something that everyone wants to see, students and
IHC Ensemble

Music is a form of artistic expression that when used in its true intent has the rare capability to reach out to a crowd - regardless whether big or small, strangers or friends - and produce a rush of vast, raw emotion within every single person in the room. Intense feelings of passion, fascination and inspiration go hand in hand with a carefully constructed piece of music delivered with true authenticity on stage. It is probable that this is the reason why the Ensemble is such a well-loved inter house competition by all of IEGS. Or maybe it is simply because of how enjoyable it is -
IHC Dance

It was an amazing evening with many laughs, and even some tears. We had an amazing range of dances and at the end of the evening everyone was very satisfied! The beloved King House won, due to their amazing energy, dance moves and just because they had so much fun that the audience were stunned in the end!
The other houses Curie, Pavlov and Russel were of course fantastic as well and each house got a standing ovation, which is great! A big theme in the competition was love, and there was
IHC Ensemble

Last week we had our IHC Ensemble competition, which is one of the more anticipated events and the one that definitely requires the most practice. Each house puts together their team and chooses a song that they think will bring home the win. It takes weeks of practice, patience and persistence, but the end result is definitely worth all the hard work. This year we had King House performing “Chandelier” by Sia, Russell House performing “The Angel of Small Death” by Hozier, Curie House performing “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand and Pavlov House performing “Gimme Shelter” by the Rolling Stones

Song Competition IHC 2014

As every year this years song competition has taken place. It's always a great event to both watch and be a part of as the many talents of the students here at IEGS are displayed. It's both a fun and a challenge to work together as one house, first by choosing a song and then having to coordinated everyone so sing on point and on key! It really does bring out the best in us all, giving us the chance to show our creative and fun side and at the same time bringing us all together. The dedication and enthusiasm shown by the students participating is a real joy to watch!
The winner this year is
The 6th annual cross- country - IHC

The 6th annual cross- country run this year took place at Ursviksmotionsgård in Sundbyberg on the 4th September 2014.
With a fantastic venue set in the beautiful Swedish countryside, only a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of Stockholm city, the stage was set for battle of the first IHC event of the academic year.
Students from all 4 houses: Curie, King, Pavlov and Russell all were eager to compete for the overall IHC cross-country trophy. This is awarded to the house with the best attendance, in combination with a bonus system for points awarded to the fastest runners in
